| 背面描述 | Central fire altar with two attendants flanking it, derived directly from the Sasanian fire altar motif, rendered in the simplified Arab-Sasanian style. The attendants are shown in profile facing the altar, as is conventional for this coin series. Concentric circular border lines frame the central design, typical of drachm coinage of this period and region. Marginal inscriptions in Arabic Kufic script appear in the outer field, replacing the regnal dating and mint legends of the earlier Sasanian issues. The combination of the Zoroastrian fire altar imagery with Islamic inscriptions is characteristic of the transitional Arab-Sasanian coinage of Sistan. |
