Obverse description Crowned Sasanian-style bust of the caliph Mu'awiya facing right, rendered in the tradition of late Sasanian royal portraiture, with elaborate winged crown surmounted by a crescent and star. The effigy is encircled by a beaded border, with Arabic bismillah ('In the name of God') inscription in the outer marginal legend, along with additional Pahlavi script inscriptions flanking the bust in the field.

Reverse description Central Zoroastrian fire altar, depicted in the traditional Sasanian manner, flanked by two standing priestly attendants facing inward with hands raised in reverence. The flames of the altar are surmounted by a crescent and star motif. Marginal Pahlavi inscriptions appear within the border, and crescent symbols are positioned in the quarters of the field, closely following the standard reverse type of late Sasanian drachms.
