Obverse description Diademed and long-bearded bust of Mithridates II facing left, wearing a distinctive tiara adorned with a six-point star and two circular designs below the diadem. The king is fitted with a griffin-ended torque at the neck, a hallmark of Parthian royal portraiture. The treatment of the beard is rendered in fine, parallel strokes consistent with the artistic conventions of late second-century BC Parthian coinage. The entire design is enclosed within a circular border of pellets.
