Obverse description Diademed bust of Mithridates II facing left, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with distinctly Parthian character. The king wears a beaded diadem over long, wavy hair that falls in loose curls behind the ear, and sports a full, carefully striated beard. He is draped in a torque-adorned garment, the torque terminal taking the form of a sea-horse. A dotted border frames the coin's irregular flan.

Reverse description Arsakes I, the legendary dynastic founder, portrayed as a heroic archer seated right upon an omphalos throne, his body shown in three-quarter view and clad in Parthian dress. He holds a strung bow horizontally in his outstretched right hand, a standard Arsacid dynastic emblem. A monogram appears in the upper right field. The surrounding Greek legend reads BASILEOS MEGALOU ARSAKOU EPIPHANOUS, encircling the central device, with the mint name Rhagai associated with this issue.
