| Obverse description | Bust of the Sasanian king in right profile, depicted in the traditional late-Sasanian style with an elaborate winged crown and detailed facial features. The royal effigy is rendered in low relief, characteristic of Arab-Sasanian coinage, preserving the iconographic conventions of the Sasanian prototype. A circular border encloses the central design, with a Pahlavi marginal legend naming the governor Misma' ibn Abd al-Malik along with the mint and regnal year. An Arabic bismillah inscription appears in the inner field. Pellets or small decorative elements are visible at the cardinal points of the border. |
