Obverse description Bare head of Apollo facing right, laureate with a wreath of bay leaves rendered in fine detail, the long wavy hair falling in thick locks behind the neck. The portrait is executed in the accomplished Hellenistic style characteristic of Carian civic coinage of the period, with sharply modelled facial features including a well-defined brow, almond-shaped eye, and gently parted lips. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, with the effigy filling the field to good effect. No legend or border is present on this face.

Reverse description A nude boy, rendered in fine relief, reclines astride a dolphin swimming to the right, grasping the creature with both arms and legs in a lively, naturalistic composition emblematic of the civic type of Iasos. The city monogram ΙΑ appears in the upper left field. In the exergue, the magistrate's name ΜΕΝΟΙΤΙΟΣ is inscribed in clear Greek characters, identifying this issue with the eponymous monetary official Menoitios.
