| Reverse description | A distinctive double stellate or grape-bunch pattern composed of multiple pellets arranged in a grid-like formation, enclosed within a double linear square frame with pellets at each corner and along the border lines, creating an ornate geometric field. The abbreviation ΔYΡ for Dyrrachion appears prominently above the square in the upper field, while the magistrate's name AΓAΘIΩNOΣ is distributed around the remaining periphery in Greek characters. The lower exergue displays additional Greek letters completing the legend. This reverse type, unique to Dyrrachion's late Hellenistic silver coinage, is believed to represent a stylized architectural or decorative motif of civic significance. |
