Obverse description Three-quarter facing radiate head of Helios turned to the right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with characteristic sun rays fanning outward from the hair; the deity's features are youthful and idealized, with carefully modeled locks of hair swept back behind the ear. The portrait displays the high-relief sculptural quality typical of Rhodian plintophoric coinage of the late second to early first century BC. No legend or inscription appears in the field.
