| Obverse description | Youthful male head facing right, identified as Heracles, enveloped in the scalp of the Nemean lion, the beast's gaping jaws forming a headdress over the crown and the paws knotted beneath the chin. The portrait is rendered in fine Hellenistic style with naturalistic facial modelling, prominent ear, and sharply defined features. The lion skin's mane radiates dramatically around the face, filling the field. No legend or inscription appears on the obverse. |

| Reverse description | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a low stool-throne, his right arm extended forward bearing an eagle with spread wings, his left hand grasping a long sceptre. In the left field, a forepart of a lion facing left is placed above a monogram. Below the throne appears either a cornucopia or a monogram, distinguishing the two known varieties of this issue. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ ('of King Lysimachus') runs in two lines flanking the central type. |
