| Reverse description | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a low backless throne, his body draped from the waist, holding a long scepter upright in his left hand and an eagle with closed wings perched on his outstretched right hand. In the left field, the forepart of a lion is placed above either the letter Φ or a crescent, serving as mint control marks. A pentagram appears beneath the throne. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, referring to Alexander III in whose name this posthumous issue was struck. |
