| Reverse description | A stylised rose in full bloom occupies the central field, the civic badge and punning emblem of Rhodes (Greek: rhodon, rose). The rose is surrounded by a border of large globules interspersed with six-pointed star ornaments, creating a decorative wreath-like arrangement. Flanking the rose in the inner field are the abbreviated ethnic and magistrate's name rendered in Greek characters, with ΛΕΩΝΙΔΑΣ identifying the eponymous magistrate responsible for the issue. The overall composition is bold and well-centred, characteristic of the late Rhodian plinthophoric series. |
