Obverse description Draped bust of the Kidarite ruler facing right, wearing an elaborate stepped crown surmounted by a crescent-and-globe finial with ribbon streamers, adorned with beaded necklace and earrings in the Sassanian royal tradition. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the facial features and headdress. A Brahmi legend identifying the king as Kidara Kushana Shah runs in the field around the bust. The overall style closely follows Sassanian prototypes while incorporating distinctly Kidarite iconographic elements.
