Drachm - Khingila Lord of Zabul, 2nd ver. (Hadda-Gandhara mint)

The Alchon Huns under Khingila dismantled what remained of Kushan-Sasanian administrative control across Gandhara in the third quarter of the fifth century, and this issue belongs to that consolidation period — when Alchon rulers were actively adopting and then distorting local minting conventions to legitimize their authority over former Kushan territories. Zabul, the region straddling what is now southeastern Afghanistan, functioned as a distinct political unit under Alchon control, and the "Lord of Zabul" title carried genuine administrative weight rather than ceremonial flourish.

The Hadda-Gandhara attribution places production within a workshop tradition with deep Kushan roots. Göbl's sequencing of the Alchon issues identifies this second version as a later die development within Khingila's output.
