The altar column is draped with a ribbon whose ends hang downward. Schematically rendered guardian figures stand on either side of the altar, their headdresses emerging from a pointed border encircling the coin's reverse field. The overall composition is characteristic of late Sasanian fire-altar reverses with flanking attendants. |
