Reverse description A bold three-line Devanagari dynastic legend fills the reverse field, executed in the angular, interlocking style characteristic of medieval Rajput coinage. The inscription is arranged in horizontal registers across the flan and identifies the issuing ruler or dynasty. The lettering is deeply struck, with individual aksharas rendered in a stylized, almost ornamental fashion consistent with 13th-century north Indian hammered silver issues.

Additional information

Jaitrasimha ruled the Chahamana branch seated at Ranastambhapura — the fortress city now known as Ranthambore — as a vassal under Delhi Sultanate suzerainty following the catastrophic defeat of the wider Chahamana confederation at the Second Battle of Tarain in 1192. This coinage reflects that subordinate political reality: the Chahamanas of Ranastambhapura continued issuing silver drachms in a debased local tradition long after their parent dynasty's collapse, a numismatic survival that outlasted their political relevance by decades.
