Obverse description Bust of a Sasanian-style ruler facing right in high relief, depicted in the tradition of late Sasanian royal portraiture. The effigy shows the characteristic winged crown or headdress with crescent and globe motifs, with hair rendered in stylized waves or locks falling to the shoulder. A pair of attendant figures or fire altars appear flanking the bust in the outer field, typical of Arab-Sasanian coinage. Marginal Arabic and/or Pahlavi legends encircle the central device within a beaded border. The overall design follows the Sasanian prototype established under Khusraw II, adapted for Islamic administrative use in the eastern provinces.
