| Reverse description | Quadripartite incuse square divided into four recessed triangular quarters by thick raised bands arranged in a mill-sail pattern, each quarter bearing fine diagonal striations. The horizontal band carries the magistrate's name in Greek characters. This deeply impressed incuse design is characteristic of the Chian series of the fourth century BC, serving as the die-identification and authenticating mark of the issuing authority. |
