正面描述 Youthful head of Heracles facing right, draped in the scalp of the Nemean lion, the creature's jaws framing the hero's crown and the pelt's forelegs knotted at the throat. The modelling is bold and deeply struck, with vigorous curling locks visible beneath the headdress. A beaded border encircles the flan.

附加信息

Struck at Magnesia ad Maeandrum during the turbulent years following Alexander's death in 323 BC, this issue falls within the period of the Diadochi wars, when Alexander's former generals were fragmenting his empire while continuing to mint in his name as a political legitimacy strategy. Magnesia's mint was active under shifting regional control during these decades, and coinage struck there under the Alexander type was part of a deliberate fiction — projecting continuity of Macedonian authority from a city already slipping between competing successor claims.

Price 1959 places this firmly within the posthumous series.
