Additional information

Struck at Lampsakos on the Hellespont during the Wars of the Diadochi, this drachm was produced after Alexander's death by successors still trading on his name and image to legitimize their authority. Lampsakos was a strategically vital mint site — it controlled access to the Black Sea grain route and changed hands repeatedly among Antigonus, Lysimachus, and others during this turbulent decade.

Price 1382 places this issue within a well-documented sequence from the Lampsakos mint, distinguished by its specific control marks from issues of neighboring cities and periods.
