| Obverse description | Youthful head of Heracles facing right, depicted beardless and wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress, with the scalp and paws knotted beneath the chin. The modelling of the face is refined, exhibiting the idealised Lysippan portrait convention associated with Alexander III. The lion's mane is rendered in carefully articulated curling locks framing the upper field, and the creature's muzzle rests upon the hero's crown. No legend appears on the obverse. |
