| Opis rewersu | Zeus Aetophoros enthroned facing left upon a high-backed throne, his body draped from the waist, the upper torso bare. His outstretched left hand supports a long scepter held vertically, while his right hand extends forward presenting an eagle with spread wings perched upon his wrist. In the left field, below the eagle, appears the Lampsacus mint monogram (ΛΑ). The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs vertically downward along the right field. The composition is executed in fine Hellenistic style consistent with the posthumous Alexander coinage of the Diadochi period. |
