Beschrijving voorzijde Youthful bare head of Heracles in right profile, clad in the Nemean lion skin headdress, the scalp knotted at the throat with the forepaws tied across the chest. The high-relief portrait displays finely rendered curling hair beneath the lion's mane, with the beast's open jaws framing the top of the head. The modelling is characteristic of the skilled die engravers working in the Hellenistic tradition at the Abydos mint during the post-Alexander period.

Beschrijving keerzijde Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a backless throne, his semi-draped figure rendered with careful attention to musculature; he holds an eagle perched on his extended right hand and a long sceptre in his raised left hand. The Greek legend AΛEΞANΔΡOY runs along the right field, reading 'of Alexander.' Mint control symbols appear as monograms in the left field and below the throne, serving as identifiers specific to the Abydos issue. The overall composition follows the canonical Alexandrine reverse type established under Alexander III.
