Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left upon a stool-throne, his nude torso depicted in three-quarter view, holding an eagle perched on his outstretched right hand and a long sceptre in his raised left hand. In the left field, a lion forepart leaping left appears above a monogram, serving as mint control symbols for the Abydos issue. Beneath the throne, a cornucopia serves as an additional control symbol. The ethnic legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field in Greek characters, denoting the coin's issue in the name of Alexander III.
