Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a backless throne, his feet resting on a low footstool; he holds an eagle perched on his outstretched right hand and a long sceptre upright in his left. In the left field, a civic monogram appears above a bunch of grapes, the latter serving as the distinctive symbol of Chios. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, identifying the issue as struck in the name of Alexander III.
