| Beschrijving voorzijde | Effigy of Hormazd IV facing right, depicted with a mural crown surmounted by a frontal crescent and korymbos set upon a crescent, with flowing ribbons and crescent ornaments at the shoulders. Stars flank the crown, and star-in-crescent devices populate the outer margin. A countermark appears to the upper right, consisting of a symbol within a circular incuse depression. The portrait is rendered in the distinctive Sasanian court style, with fine chasing of facial features typical of late sixth-century royal coinage. Inscriptional Pahlavi legends accompany the royal bust. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | A fire altar with pendant ribbons occupies the central field, flanked symmetrically by two standing attendants facing inward toward the sacred flames. A star and crescent device appear to either side of the flames atop the altar, emblematic of the Zoroastrian faith central to Sasanian royal ideology. The composition follows the standard reverse design established across Sasanian silver coinage, rendered in hammered relief with the characteristic shallow yet detailed treatment of drapery and altar furnishings. A mint abbreviation and regnal year appear in the fields flanking the altar and attendants. |
