| Beschrijving keerzijde | Pallas Athena standing facing right, depicted holding a thunderbolt in her extended right hand and a large round shield in her left, a motif derived from Hellenistic numismatic convention as adapted by the Indo-Parthian mint tradition. The figure is rendered schematically, with the goddess's form reduced to an almost abstract silhouette characteristic of the debased provincial coinage of Gondophares. A Kharosthi legend surrounds the central device, partially preserved given the irregular flan. The overall reverse composition reflects the bilingual and bicultural nature of Indo-Parthian royal coinage, combining Greek iconography with Indic script. |
