| Obverse description | A cow stands to right in the field, her head turned back to observe a suckling calf positioned below her to left, rendered in a lively and naturalistic style characteristic of Dyrrachian coinage. Above the group, an eagle perches to right upon a thunderbolt, a symbol of divine authority frequently employed on Illyrian civic issues. The magistrate's name EYKTHMΩN appears in the field above the bovine group, serving as the eponymous moneyer's legend. The composition is contained within the broad, slightly irregular flan typical of hammered silver issues of this series. |
