Obverse description Diademed head of Diodotos Tryphon facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with voluminous curly hair bound by a royal diadem, the ends of which fall behind the neck. The portrait is set within a beaded border, with no legend in the field. The modelling of the facial features is naturalistic, consistent with Seleucid royal portraiture of the mid-second century BC.
