Obverse description Diademed head of Demetrios II Nikator facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with youthful, idealized features. The hair is elaborately styled in thick, wavy locks falling over the forehead and behind the ear, with the royal diadem tied at the back. The portrait is set within a smooth, unadorned field, enclosed by a beaded border. The bust is bare-shouldered, consistent with standard Seleucid royal portraiture of the period. The engraving exhibits confident die work characteristic of the Seleucia in Pieria mint.
