| Obverse description | Facing left, the draped bust of the city nymph of Sinope rendered in fine Classical Greek style, her hair elegantly swept back and confined within a sakkos, with a loose tendril escaping behind the ear. A single-pendant drop earring adorns her ear, and the portrait is executed with naturalistic modelling typical of fourth-century Pontic coinage. The flan is bordered by a partial dotted bead-and-reel pattern visible along the upper periphery of the field. |

| Reverse description | A sea-eagle with dramatically upswept, finely striated wings stands astride a dolphin swimming to the left, its talons gripping the cetacean's back with clearly rendered detail. The eagle's head is turned downward toward its prey in a powerful, predatory pose, a traditional emblem of Sinopean civic coinage. In the lower field, the Greek legend ΔΑΤΑ is inscribed in bold archaic-style capitals, representing an abbreviated form of the satrap Datames' name. The composition fills the flan dynamically, with the dolphin's snout and tail curving toward the coin's edge. |
