| Obverse description | Facing head of Helios, the sun god, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with characteristic three-quarter frontal perspective. The deity's youthful, idealised visage is framed by flowing, radiating hair swept outward symmetrically to either side, conveying the divine solar energy. The finely modelled facial features display high-relief workmanship typical of Rhodian mint artistry of the early second century BC. The field is plain, with no additional devices or inscriptions. |
