| Descrizione del dritto | Diademed head of King Ariobarzanes I Philoromaios facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition with finely detailed curling hair swept back beneath the royal diadem. The effigy displays a short beard and strong facial features characteristic of the Cappadocian royal coinage. The portrait is set within a plain, unbordered field on an irregularly shaped flan typical of hammered provincial coinage. No legend appears on the obverse, the entire face being devoted to the royal effigy. |
