Ardashir II ruled for just four years before being deposed by the nobility — forcibly removed, blinded, and replaced by his nephew Shapur III. His coinage is correspondingly scarce, and the short window of production means die varieties are limited and well-documented within Göbl's typology. The SNS Iran and Sunrise references align on a single principal type, leaving collectors little ambiguity about attribution.
