Obverse description Diademed head of Archelaus facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with naturalistically curled hair and delicate facial features. The diadem is clearly visible above the brow, its ends trailing behind the neck. The portrait is set within a fillet border, occupying the full breadth of the flan. The die work exhibits confident, fluid modeling characteristic of late Cappadocian royal coinage.
