| Descrizione del dritto | Bare-headed and diademed portrait of Antiochos III Megas in right profile, rendered in the Hellenistic royal tradition with finely modeled facial features including a strong brow, straight nose, and subtly parted lips. The hair is arranged in wavy locks swept back from the forehead beneath the royal diadem, whose trailing ends are visible behind the neck. The bust is truncated at the shoulder, and the field is otherwise plain. The portrait reflects the idealized yet individualized artistic conventions of Seleucid royal coinage. |

A control mark or monogram appears to the right of the elephant, with additional control marks placed in the exergue depending on the emission. The two-line Greek royal legend BAΣIΛEΩΣ above and ANTIOXOY below frames the central device, identifying the issuing authority as King Antiochos.
