The overall composition creates a bold, symmetrical ornamental effect typical of the civic coinage of Dyrrachion. The ethnic ΔYΡ (abbreviation for Dyrrachion) and the magistrate's name ΔAMHNOΣ are disposed in Greek letters around the four sides of the square frame.
