Obverse description Youthful head of Heracles facing right, beardless, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress, with the scalp drawn over the crown and the forepaws knotted at the throat. The rendering is in the bold Hellenistic style characteristic of the Lampsacus mint, with deeply modelled facial features and finely engraved lion mane framing the face. No legend on obverse.

Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a backless throne, his nude torso turned slightly forward; he holds an eagle with spread wings on his extended right hand and a long sceptre in his raised left hand. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field. The control mark KI appears in the left field, with an additional monogram positioned below the throne, both serving as mint control symbols for the Lampsacus issue.
