| Reverse description | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a low backless throne (diphros), his body draped from the waist, holding an eagle with spread wings on his extended right hand and a long vertical sceptre in his left. A monogram appears in the left field and a second control mark is placed below the throne. The inscription ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs downward along the right field, identifying the coinage as struck in the name of Alexander. The composition follows the canonical Alexandrine reverse type established at the Amphipolis mint. |
