Obverse description Stylized royal bust facing right in the Sasanian tradition, surmounted by an elaborate winged crown or headdress with a prominent bird or eagle motif at the apex flanked by wing-like elements, all rendered in a degenerate imitative style derived from late Sasanian prototypes. The face is depicted in a highly schematized manner with large circular eye, prominent nose, and a broad necklace or collar of pellets beneath the chin. Concentric rings of beading encircle the central portrait, with a serrated or denticulated inner border. A Sogdian countermark appears in the left field.
Obverse script Sogdian (on countermark)
