Celticized head of Herakles facing right, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress, rendered in a stylized barbarous manner characteristic of Eastern European Celtic imitative coinage. The facial features are boldly modeled with a prominent chin and deeply incised eye, while the lion scalp is depicted with flowing mane curls framing the head. A beaded border encircles the design. The overall style reflects a Celtic interpretation of the original Macedonian prototype, retaining the general composition while exhibiting the abstraction typical of late La Tène artistic convention. |
