Obverse description Youthful bare head of Heracles in three-quarter right profile, wearing the Nemean lion-skin headdress with the scalp knotted beneath the chin; the pelt's inner mane delineated along the lower edge bears a small control mark 'M', a mintmark characteristic of the Magnesia ad Maeandrum issue. The portrait is rendered in the idealized Hellenistic style, with fine engraving of the lion's muzzle framing the hero's face.
