Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros seated to left on a low-backed throne, his right hand extended downward and his left hand resting on a long vertical sceptre; an eagle with closed wings, its head turned back to the left, perches atop a burning torch in the right field. The ethnic legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ is arranged in two lines flanking the central design, identifying the coin as an issue in the name of Alexander. The composition follows the canonical reverse type established for the Alexandrine drachm series.
