Reverse description Central device is a rose in full bloom with a bud to the right, the civic emblem of Rhodes, rendered in fine detail. The magistrate's name ΑΔΡΑΣΤΟΣ (Adrastos) appears in Greek letters above the rose, while the letters Ρ and Ο flank the rose on either side, serving as the ethnic abbreviation for Rhodos. A serpent is positioned in the lower left field. The entire composition is contained within a shallow square incuse (plinth), characteristic of the Rhodian plintophoric series, giving this coinage type its name.
