| Obverse description | Draped bust of the city nymph Sinope facing left, her hair bound in a sakkos decorated with a dotted border at the nape; a pendant drop earring adorns her ear. An aphlastron (stern ornament), rendered with fine linear detail, appears in the left field. The portrait is executed in the refined late Classical style, with delicate facial features and carefully articulated drapery at the truncation. |
