Obverse description Draped bust of the nymph Terina facing right, her luxuriant hair elaborately arranged in thick curls and bound with a wreath or diadem, rendered in the fine South Italian Greek style. The facial features are modelled with delicate precision, exhibiting the idealized femininity characteristic of Magna Graecia coinage of the early fourth century BC. A partial Greek legend appears along the right field. The portrait occupies the full flan, reflecting the accomplished die-cutting tradition of the Bruttian mint at Terina.
