| Obverse description | Facing head of Apollo, rendered in the three-quarter view slightly turned to right, laureate with a wreath of laurel leaves visible at the temples and crown. The features are rendered in the archaic-transitional style characteristic of Karian civic coinage of the early fourth century BC, with broad almond-shaped eyes, a straight nose, and slightly parted lips. The high-relief portrait fills the flan, with the hair rendered in long strands flanking the face. The field is plain and unlettered. |
