| Obverse description | Facing head of the goddess Cybele (or a local female deity), rendered in archaic Greek style with a wreath of leaves or hair radiating symmetrically around the face. The features are bold and stylized, with large almond-shaped eyes, a straight nose, and fleshy lips characteristic of late 5th-century BC Thracian-Aegean coinage. The image fills the flan, with the face presented in full frontal aspect, a striking and relatively rare orientation in Greek silver coinage of this period. |
