Obverse description Facing head of Helios rendered in high relief, the solar deity depicted with radiate, windswept hair flowing symmetrically to either side. An eagle is superimposed upon the right cheek, a distinctive iconographic element characteristic of Mylasan coinage. The facial features are rendered in the Hellenistic style, with naturalistic modelling of the eyes, nose, and lips. The flan is irregular, as typical of hammered silver issues from Carian civic mints of this period.
