Reverse description A cock standing right, its head erect and tail feathers raised, depicted in profile within a dotted square border set within a shallow quadrate incuse square. The bird is rendered with crisp, stylized detail characteristic of early Classical Greek coinage. The incuse technique reflects the archaic die-cutting traditions common to northern Aegean mints of the fifth century BC. The field within the dotted square is plain.
