| Obverse description | Bearded head of Herakles facing right, enveloped in the scalp of the Nemean lion, the open jaws and mane rendered in bold archaic relief with characteristic dotted pellets along the border of the lion skin. The eye is deeply incised and the beard rendered in fine strands, reflecting the early Classical style of Thracian coinage. The flan is irregular, typical of hand-struck issues of this period. |
