Obverse description Bearded male head of Poseidon facing left, bound with a taenia, his thick wavy hair and beard rendered with vigorous, deeply cut curls in the Hellenistic manner. A trident is visible behind the head, its tines projecting upward along the right side of the portrait. A bucranium appears in the lower field. The design is framed by a fine beaded border.

Reverse description A hippocamp galloping to the right, upon whose back Amphitrite is seated facing left, her drapery flowing behind her. In her extended right hand she holds the infant Eros, who stands facing left and draws a bow. A cornucopiae appears in the right field, serving as an additional divine attribute. The ethnic legend BPETTIΩN and the control mark Γ are placed in the field.
